A medical emergency

A deep navy cloak hides his features and the more ornate tunic the courtesan usually wears to greet his clients. Mal hunches his shoulders and slides through the crowds hoping to avoid notice. He keeps his head down until he reaches the home of the doctor and wraps smartly on the door. "Open up," he calls in a voice that expects to be listened to.

How much time did he have? He could not have a client bleeding out. Not this one. Not one who had come to him for help, to be treated privately.

"Good?" Regis suggests, gladness in his voice. Pride, too, of having been able to please his lover. He knows that there is much left for Mal to experience for the first time and he will be glad to be there with him for it.

"That...that does not do it justice," Mal murmurs. He looks up, his cheeks still flushed and his eyes bright. "Now I understand why it was one of the first things I was taught to do. It feels incredible."

"Mmmh, it rather does," Regis agrees in a purring tone of voice. He looks pleased.

"So, am I assuming correctly that you will let me do it again?" He flashes a fond grin. "For I assure you, I very much enjoy doing so."

Mal's cheeks flush. "I would not mind one bit," he agrees. "Nor fail to want to do it to you again. The look in your eyes was very rewarding."

There's a quiet, warm chuckle from the vampire. "How do you feel about the prospect of other things now, that we might do?" It's a gentle inquiry, for the sake of communication rather than to lead to something. They are both relaxed now, open. Talking about it might work well.

"It doesn't bother me," Mal says, propping himself up a little so that he can see Regis' face. "I do not know how I feel until something starts to happen." He is an expert at switching off.

"But, if it feels anything like that..."

If it feels anything like that... Regis can't help but to smile.

"Mal, we are only getting started. We are still getting to know each other. The more familiar we become, the more at ease with each other we become, the better it will be." They have started not without complications, but still with a great deal fo promise, Regis feels.

Mal reaches up to press a soft kiss to Regis' lips. It is strange to feel like he still has a lot to learn!

"How could it not get better and better with you as partner," he murmurs. "You are incredible.

It is a lot to learn but for different reasons. Now it isn't about the mechanics of sex, about techniques or erogenous zones, about genitals or what can go where. Now it is about emotion, of allowing ones own pleasure, of actually wanting, for both yourself and your partner. An that makes all the difference in the world.

"Ah, well I do like to think that the centuries have taught me a thing or two," he says, more likely than not too humbly. But this does not strike him as the time to brag. "But truly, Mal, I like to please as much as I like to be pleased. I know that isn't always the case with some people, but it is with me."

"I do not think that will be the case with me," Mal is able to say with complete honesty. "It does not feel like me."

"You think you will always prefer to give?" It would make some sense, with how Mal has been raised and trained. But still... "Give it time, Mal. You may end up surprising yourself. Still, at the end of the day what matters is that you yourself is content."

Mal shakes his head. " I know," he says quietly. Early tests and zero inclination, or excitement even now to be any other way.

"It doesn't not bother me, it never has. I have always found my own enjoyment in giving."

"Then that is good." There was still enjoyment, after all. As long as it didn't start to feel like a requirement for Mal, then it was all good.

Mal only hopes this will not become a point of contention in their relationship as it grows. "If it does bother you, please do let me know."

Might it turn out that they are not compatible? Perhaps. They won't know until they have tried, and in trying they will need to be open about their own needs.

"I do not wish to only receive," Regis says truthfully. "I wish to be an active participant in the intimacy between us. But I do hope and think that we will find enough common ground that will work for us."

"There are more ways to give pleasure than just asking the other person to lie back," Mal murmurs. So much more, giving was about facilitating desires, being open and available. They both perhaps had something to learn.

"I know. I worded myself poorly, I apologize. The point I wish to make is that I too have a need to give. I need to know that you are enjoying our intimate moments as much as I am. However, the form that enjoyment may take - physical or emotional - is less important than the fact that it is there."

Ma'ls expression clears a little, "I can promise it will always be there emotionally."
